Provenance notes: Part of a group of nine quartos in the Zurich library, which formed a sammelband when they were acquired by the library in the early nineteenth century, including six plays and a prose novelization of a play, all published between 1607 and 1613, with neighboring shelfmarks and similar bindings, suggesting they entered the library at the same time: Ben Jonson, Volpone (1607); How a Man May Choose a Good Wife from a Bad (1608); Painful Adventures of Pericles Prince of Tyre (1608); Romeo and Juliet (1609); Hamlet (1611); Troublesome Reign of King John (1611); Pericles (1611); John Marston, Insatiate Countess (1613, with author attribution cut out); Robin Stafford, A Geographicall and Anthologicall description of all the Empires and Kingdomes (1607); George Hakewill, The Auncient Ecclesiasticall Practise of Confirmation (1613).
